Z2 Entertainment owns and operates the historic Boulder Theater, the Lounge at the Boulder Theater, the Fox Theatre and most recently, The Pop-Up, a temporary nightclub. The company promotes a summer series at Chautauqua Auditorium and is the home of the FMQB radio conference.

  • Increased Z2’s overall ticket sales by 30 percent via integrated marketing plans that include major media partnerships, paid advertising and grassroots marketing

  • Grew Boulder Theater Instagram to 10,000+ and increased social presence for Z2 Entertainment venues via robust organic campaigns and paid advertising

  • Helped Boulder Theater and Fox Theatre achieve highest Pollstar Top 100 Theatres & Clubs ranking to date; currently Boulder Theater ranks 31 out of top 100 and Fox ranks 45

Marketing Manager, AEG Presents Rocky Mountains

AEG Presents Rocky Mountains is a regional AEG Live promoter office. During my time at the top-grossing office, I managed the marketing for events that spanned all musical genres for shows at small clubs, theaters, arenas and Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

  • Created integrated marketing plans for 250+ ticketed events each year, including dissemination of professional level communications and valuation/activation of promotional partnership programs with major media and retail sponsors

  • Developed network of key media and retail partners as well as entertainment blogs and sub-promoters to increase awareness of AEG Presents events

  • Conceptualized creative hashtag contest that resulted in $16,000 in ticket revenue for a single show

Operations Coordinator, Mile High Music Festival
AEG Presents Rocky Mountains

​March 2008 - December 2010

Mile High Music Festival was an annual music festival produced by AEG Presents Rocky Mountains from 2008 through 2010. The festival featured five stages, attracted 60,000 per day at its height and headliners included Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Dave Matthews, Tool, Jack Johnson and more. 

 

  • Oversaw on-site activations for event sponsors, art installations and food/marketplace vendors

  • Managed the development of all marketing collateral for the event

  • Led brand/website redesign; the new website garnered more than 4 million unique page impressions

Editor, Cantata Books

​September 2005 - March 2008

Cantata Books was a boutique publisher of books on the topic of scrapbooking. Cantata's most successful title was The Joy of Scrapbooking, an encyclopedic reference on the hobby. 

 

  • Collaborated with the executive editor and art director to determine book topics and reviewed artwork submissions to be included 

  • Participated in all phases of book publication including conceptualization, writing, layout, photography, editing and proofreading

  • Managed and catalogued artwork acquisitions

Freelance Editor, Interweave Press

January 2006 - March 2008

Interweave Press, a subsidiary of F + W Publications, publishes craft books. As a freelance editor for Interweave, I specialized in editing books about paper-crafting and mixed-media art.

 

  • Guided up-and-coming paper-craft and mixed-media artists through the process of book creation 

  • Created wireframe book design using Adobe InDesign

  • Edited, rewrote and authored sections of books as required

  • Conceptualized step-by-step artwork and photographs 

  • Oversaw photo shoots of artwork and step-by-step photography

Associate Editor, Memory Makers Magazine

February 2002 - September 2005

Memory Makers Magazine was a best-selling scrapbooking magazine. I defined the newly created role of product editor, increasing the visibility of top manufacturer's products in the magazine via detailed sourcing and creative product features.

 

  • Oversaw regular departments of the magazine including Hot Products, Idea Gallery and various feature articles as assigned

  • Lead editorial responsibility for special issues including the annual Top 50 Scrapbooking Products issue

  • Increased advertising revenue via increased product features

  • Managed acquisition of scrapbooking products, distributing them to craft editor, freelance artists and writers

  • Strengthened relationships with major product manufacturers

  • Designed and taught classes for Camp Memory Makers scrapbooking retreats

  • Filled in for the company founder on Home Shopping Network

  • Participated in all phases of magazine production including conceptualization, writing, editing, photography, graphic design, proofing and publication

Reporter, Cincinnati CityBeat 

June 1999 - February 2001

Cincinnati CityBeat was a free alternative newsweekly. As one of two reporters for the paper, I covered the Cincinnati Public School System, county government and wrote feature stories on topics such as the homeless.

 

  • Wrote weekly feature stories, cover stories and contributed to the "Burning Questions" column

  • Contributed to special issues, including the annual Best of Cincinnati and the Women's issue

  • Won four Society of Professional Journalists awards for my work in 2001
